SEAI pays up to €300 towards a home charge point. It is not knocked off the installer's invoice up front — you pay the installer, then SEAI pays you once the paperwork is in. That one detail is why the order of events matters more than anything else on this page.
Do not let anyone start work before your Letter of Offer arrives. SEAI's wording is to not commence any work before the start date on the letter, otherwise the expenditure is deemed ineligible. There is no appeal. People lose the €300 on sequencing, not on eligibility.
